Get ready for the Adam and Kono reunion you've been waiting for. Hawaii Five-0's beleaguered couple will finally have a shot at that elusive marital bliss as season 7 gets off the ground.

The newlyweds had their honeymoon shattered by Gabriel (Christopher Sean), a moment of torture that snowballed into a prison sentence for Kono's (Grace Park) husband. Constantly marred by his father's past, Adam's (Ian Anthony Dale) time behind bars might finally yield the Yakuza-free life he's been looking for.

That's not to say the couple's post-Halawa life will be entirely smooth sailing. Adam's decision to keep Gabriel's criminal overtures a secret will still weigh heavily on Kono's mind as season 7 begins.

"These two people have to get to know each other again," showrunner Peter M. Lenkov told Entertainment Weekly. "Some of that erodes when there's distance. Especially being in prison, your mind starts to wander and you start to question things. But their relationship is in a healthy place, I just think that they're going to need to get to know each other again when he comes out. But I think she will trust him."

Sadly, fans will have to wait several episodes before Adam sheds his orange jumpsuit. Last we heard, the jailbird still had four months on his sentence. With little to no time jump between season 6 and 7, the premiere will pickup at roughly the same point as the finale.

"What you've got to remember is McGarrett's recovering, so I'm going to start the season with him coming out of the hospital, so it's going to be less than four months," Lenkov told Entertainment Weekly back in May.
