NCIS: Los Angeles fans will have to wait just a teensy bit longer than normal for the fall premiere.

Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), Kensi (Daniela Ruah), and Sam (LL Cool J) will jump to a new night and time for season 8, making their Sunday evening debut at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 2. The premiere is scheduled nearly two weeks after NCIS: New Orleans and week later than NCIS, but fans shouldn't let the ponderously slow hiatus get them down. Writers are planning a wild ride for those willing to wait.

"By now you all know, #ncisla S8 premier[e] date #CBSSundayOctober2at8PM," executive producer John Peter Kousakis teased. "It will be a sensational season!#StayTuned #wontdisappoint."

The writer's room reopened earlier this month, and the scribes are churning out new material as you read this.

"Yes...#ncisla is back. Let the S8 games begin," Kousakis tweeted. "A spectacular season is in our future.#StayTuned #CBSSundayat8PM #wewontdisappoint."

In an interesting turn of events, NCIS: LA did not end season 7 with a cliffhanger. Nevertheless, there are several storylines that will undoubtedly spill over into the autumn run - Hetty (Linda Hunt) and Granger (Miguel Ferrer) have yet to uncover the OSP's mysterious mole, Callen's inquest into his past has not stopped despite the discovery of his father (and his name!), and the finale left the promise of a Densi proposal still hanging in the air.

Are you excited for season 8? Be sure to mark your schedules for Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
