Authorities confirmed the two suspects connected to Monday's Boston Marathon bombing are two Russian-born Chechen brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev.

Tamerlan, 26, died following a shootout with police on Thursday night in Boston. He had a YouTube profile, where he created a playlist dedicated to terrorism and another for Islam.

Tamerlan was photographed for a series titled "Will Box For Passport." In one photo caption he is quoted as saying, "I don't have a single American friend, I don't understand them."

Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of conflict in the country in the 90s. He lived for years in Kazakhstan before moving to America as a refugee. Law enforcement officials also told NBC News that he and his brother entered the United States with family in 2002 or 2003. Tamerlan became a legal permanent resident in 2007.

Tamerlan admitted that he was very released. One photo in the gallery was captioned, "Tamerlan says he doesn't usually take his shirt off so girls don't get bad ideas: 'I'm very religious.' "

Another read, "Tamerlan says he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: 'God said no alcohol.' A muslim, he says: 'There are no values anymore,' and worries that 'people cannot control themselves.' "

His photo gallery features a woman identified as his girlfriend at the time, and the caption reads, "Tamerlan says his girlfriend is half Portuguese, half Italian girlfriend and converted to Islam: 'She's beautiful, man!' " (See his alleged girlfriend pictured here.)

Tamerlan was shot by police and brought to Beth Israel Medical Center as he was under cardiac arrest with multiple gunshot wounds on Thursday night following a shootout with police. His brother fled the shootout.

"We believe this to be a terrorist," said Boston police Commissioner Ed Davis. "We believe this to be a man who has come here to kill people. We need to get him into custody."
