The upcoming episode of Dragon Ball Super would feature a true clash of titans, as the franchise's main protagonist, Goku, finally faces off with the time-travelling, evil Black Goku. If the teaser trailer for the episode is anything to go by, however, it would seem like the battle between the two Gokus would feature a rather surprising ending.

One thing that was notable in the upcoming episode's preview was the fact that Goku and Black Goku's clash involved the Z fighter immediately going Super Saiyan and his evil counterpart remaining in his base form. Despite this, however, there were scenes featuring Black Goku actually gaining the upper hand.

Indeed, the last frame of the preview shows Goku, already in his base form, seemingly smashed against a massive rock. Such a scene could only mean one thing - Goku was hit very hard by Black Goku, to the point when he actually lost his Super Saiyan form.

Then again, it is quite hard to imagine Goku easily losing to Black Goku in such a manner. With Goku already training with Whis, and having battled gods of destruction in the past, it would be a shame if all the strength he gained during the previous arcs of Dragon Ball Super will simply get negated by Black Goku.

Even if Black Goku is indeed an evil Kai, as noticed by Whis and Beerus, there is almost no sense in showing Goku, who is arguably the strongest Z fighter to date, easily losing to an opponent whose background has not even been explored yet. Of course, if Black Goku does use his Potara earring and fuses with Goku, then that is completely different story.

Overall, the next episode of Dragon Ball Super would definitely be fun to watch. If any, it would feature a battle between two titans of power, and if Dragon Ball's history and reputation are anything to go by, the results of such battles usually have far-reaching consequences.
