The upcoming episode of Dragon Ball Super is set to feature an epic battle between the strongest Z fighter and arguably the most interesting villain in the entire franchise to date. Considering the factors present in the upcoming battle, however, fans are speculating that the real enemy of the Future Trunks arc would finally make an appearance on Episode 50.

These speculations are fuelled by the notion that there is absolutely no way for Black Goku to beat present-day Goku during this battle, mainly due to the fact that Goku has already achieved an insane amount of strength and power, thanks to his training under beings like Whis and crossing fists with gods of destruction like Beerus.

Thus, no matter how powerful Black Goku really is, there seems to be no logical way for him to actually beat Goku in a battle of strength. Though the preview for the episode did feature a seemingly unconscious Goku smashed into a rock wall, it is quite logical to assume that the scene would not be the end of the battle between the two Gokus.

With this in mind, many fans are speculating that Black Goku might not be the final enemy of the Future Trunks saga at all. Rather, the actual villain would be the Dark Kai who is featured in the anime's most recent opening theme - a character known only as Zamasu.

Though speculations about Zamasu are numerous, there is almost a consensus among fans that the Dark Kai is connected to the existence of Black Goku. In fact, some are even speculating that Black Goku is simply a puppet for Zamasu, and that the real battle would start once the mysterious Kai finally appears.

Others, however, believe that Black Goku is actually Zamasu in disguise. If this is indeed the case, then the finale of Goku and Black Goku's match would definitely be a very interesting turn of events. If any, it would, once more, push the narrative of Dragon Ball Super into new vistas that the franchise has never explored before.

Regardless of the result of the match between Goku and Black Goku, one thing is sure - the Future Trunks arc is just beginning, and there are a lot more to come.
