Oliver Queen's sins will come home to roost in Arrow season 5. A new evil is on the loose in Star City, and it will be one of the bowman's own creation.

We all know Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman) will ruffle some feathers this fall, but, even as Team Arrow prepares to battle the "imposing gangster," the Arrow powers that be are busy teasing the series' new big bad.

"[Season 5's villain] is somebody Oliver unwittingly created in season 1 when he was a killer in a hood," executive producer Wendy Mericle told TV Guide Magazine. "This guy is going to be collateral damage who lost someone to the Hood and [has] spent the last several years training and plotting for revenge. He will be a true dark mirror to Oliver Queen."

Mericle stopped short of dropping any names, which leaves us wondering if she is referring to Church or another insidious presence. After all, Star City is a breeding ground for DC rogues. With Damien Darhk in the ground, who knows how many criminal hopefuls will pop up to fill the void.

"If [the premiere] is any indication, Arrow is going to be f-king mean this year," Stephen Amell (Oliver) told TV Line. "And that's really exciting."

As we wait to find out who Mericle is referring to (we bet we'll find out at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday!), here's a run down of Arrow's season 5 casting news - Tyler Ritter will take on the role of Detective Malone, Carly Pope will debut as Coast City's Susan Williams (future sister-in-law to Hal Jordan), and former WWE star Cody Rhodes will continue his feud with the bowman.
