Hayley is about to face some new challenges when The Originals returns this fall.

On Saturday, TV Line discovered new details about the show's upcoming season as the cast and crew members spilled some fun stuff at Comic-Con in San Diego, California. Phoebe Tonkin, who plays Hayley, mentioned what's important to her character and how that's affected her since the beginning of the series.

"When we met Hayley, all she ever wanted was family," Tonkin said. "Through the events that happened, she created a family on her own with her daughter. I don't think she feels alone- one, because she has five bodies in the back of her car- and because she has a purpose, a family-driven purpose."

With the determination for family, there's another challenge coming for Hayley since she has to embrace her non-human side as well. According to executive producer Michael Narducci, she will need to "locate the seven werewolf packs" in order to save everyone.

"So she has a difficult journey ahead of her," Narducci added. "She has to explore the werewolf side that's going to connect her to those packs."

There is also the matter of Hayley and Elijah's relationship, which may or may not come with a happy ending.

"With Hayley and Elijah, we felt they'd gotten to dance around each other early on, then become terribly separated, emotionally and physically," executive producer Julie Plec revealed. "Knowing this family was going to be split apart for the next five years, giving them the opportunity to [get together one more time] felt right...time will tell how much happiness they're able to have- or not have."

The Originals Season 4 is expected to premiere later this fall on The CW.
