Ed Hartwell has shared his side of what happened after he filed for divorce from actress Keshia Knight Pulliam earlier this week.

Hartwell, who secretly filed for divorce just days after Pulliam announced her pregnancy, has spoken out after she blasted him for cheating during their seven month marriage.

As for Hartwell, he also made headlines after he demanded a paternity test.

He explained to Page Six why he questioned being the father.

“She wanted a baby really fast, and what I was trying to explain to her was that—from my beliefs, from seeing other successful people—that when you first get married, especially since we didn’t have a long courtship, that we should actually focus on each other and not just have a baby. That’s something she really wanted to do.”

Hartwell and Pulliam tied the knot back in January just days before they revealed their engagement. Interestingly enough, they had been secretly dating for four months.

He said that back in February he had a “sit-down” with Pulliam and admitted he thought they “moved too fast.”

“I said, ‘I think we probably messed up…Our lives and wants are headed two different directions.”

During that conversation he also confessed to Pulliam that he had found out his ex-fiance had a miscarriage. The loss caused him to realize he still “cared about her.”

“[Keshia Pulliam] wasn’t mad that I still cared about her. All she was mad about was, ‘You don’t want to have a baby, but you’re mad about her baby. You can’t talk to her 13-year-old daughter. And there was a big fall-out.”

He also said he questioned her after she “started going out with friends all the time and not telling me when she was coming home or sometimes not coming home at all.”

He said he stopped being intimate with Pulliam, who he met through his ex-wife, reality star Lisa Wu, after he realized, “If she wants something, she wants it now and she’s going to get it.”

He added that he requested the paternity test because in his mind “things just weren’t adding up.”
