The Flash's Barry Allen needs to enroll in Rip Hunter's school of reckless time travel. From the notion that time wants to happen to the slow lag as nascent memories attempt to solidify, season 3 will give the Scarlet Speedster a crash course in Time Master damage control.

"Flashpoint" will pick up in the present day, three months into Barry's (Grant Gustin) new life. As the world around him begins to fight back against the Flash's tinkering, the hero's memories will begin to rewrite themselves, ultimately working to block out the storyline we've come to know and love.

"While he is the only one that knows, he does slowly start to forget the original timeline," Gustin explained, according to Comics Beat. "Kind of like a Back to the Future-esque type of thing, which is a very cool element."

So, like Marty and the Polaroid trippy? Cisco (Carlos Valdes) is going to have a field day when Barry makes it back to the real world.

"He's starting to have new memories of graduating high school and college, memories he never had with his parents, but those memories are replacing other things from the other timeline," Gustin told Entertainment Weekly.

As happy as Bar is now, how painful will it be when those reminiscences are ripped away? Flashpoint won't last forever, after all.

"There's ramifications through the whole season, but it won't necessarily last as long as some people are expecting it to 'last,' I guess," the actor recently told IGN. "But there are permanent effects on the rest of the show."
