Don't clutch those pearls too tightly! The Disney Channel has yet to decide the fate of Girl Meets World.

Boy Meets World's next generation spinoff wrapped up the long running Riley (Rowan Blanchard)/Maya (Sabrina Carpenter)/Lucas (Peyton Meyer) triangle on Friday night (they even threw in a surprise BMW callback!), but, nevertheless, fans are sweating the future of the series. They aren't the only ones.

Filming for season 3 wrapped last week, and, according to the actors, Disney has yet to issue a renewal.

"We finished filming season 3, haven't heard anything yet," Blanchard tweeted at the end of July.

Considering the current run hasn't even met its halfway mark, this isn't necessarily a reason to panic. Many series don't receive that coveted phone call until after the finale.

"We are wrapping production next week on the third season," a Disney rep told TV Line. "With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season."

Should Disney drop the ball, there is always a chance the Matthews family could find a home on another of ABC's networks, the teen-oriented Freeform. The option has been bandied about by viewers - it would allow the series to tackle more mature storylines - but execs have yet to address the possibility.

"These things aren't under our control," the Girl Meets World writers told fans during a July Q&A. "We will give you our best as long as we are allowed."

In the meantime, viewers can continue to catch Girl Meets World Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET. This month Maya worries about Shawn and Katy's wedding in "Girl Meets I Do" (Aug. 12), Riley tackles a difficult debate in "Girl Meets Sassy Halter Top" (Aug. 19), and the teens launch an investigation when Riley's childhood teddy bear goes missing in "Girl Meets Bear."
