Deadpool 2 is going to continue with its humorous pokes at other films.

While the original film made little jokes here and there on other genres, it appears that the sequel will point out what's happening in other movies coming to theaters these days, specifically superhero movies. In Friday's report from Slash Film, producer Simon Kinberg revealed what he expects for the sequel and some fun moments that can be expected.

"I think Deadpool 2 will comment on anything that's happening in movies today especially in superhero movies," Kinberg said. "The sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels is definitely something we'll play around with."

It was previously revealed that Cable would be making an appearance in the movie although it's still unclear who will be playing him. According to Kinberg, nothing is official yet.

"I've seen rumors from everybody from Arnold Schwarzenegger to I can't even remember," the producer shared. "We haven't cast him is the truth."

Kinberg also dished on the progress of the Gambit film, which is moving slowly but surely.

"I think the truth is when you have these movies that need a very special and unique tone, it takes a little while to find that tone," Kinberg explained. "Deadpool feels like it exploded out of nowhere, but it was a ten-year development process on that movie. I think it was honed over those ten years. I hope that Gambit doesn't take ten years, but it takes a little honing to get that tone and that voice exactly right."

Deadpool 2 is expected to hit theaters in 2018. Ryan Reynolds is also expected to return to play the title role.
