Supercell seems to be gearing up for a massive Clash of Clans update, and the rumored changes to the game that the developer would allegedly implement are speculated to make the title far more appealing to its massive fanbase. If any, it seems like Supercell is going for broke, attempting to remake its most popular title to attract new players and to encourage old players to keep playing the game.

With Pokémon GO the reigning king of mobile games, former champion Clash of Clans seems to be preparing for war.

Clash of Clans September Update

Supercell has teased a number of new features for Clash of Clans in the upcoming September update. According to rumors, the September update would practically overhaul the mobile title, with significant improvements to TH 1 to 11 set to be implemented. Apart from this, the developer would allegedly include a way for players to acquire gems for free as well.

This, together with a number of balancing changes that include nerfs, buffs and a number of modifications to some of the game's mechanics, appear to be Supercell's way to make sure Clash of Clans aficionados remain engaged and entertained.

Clash of Clans to Topple Pokemon GO?

Before the release of Niantic's blockbuster mobile title, Supercell's Clash of Clans stood among the top players in the mobile game industry. Once the augmented reality game was released, however, CoC, together with its peers, were taken down a peg, with Pokémon GO practically taking over the entire mobile world.

Thus, many Clash of Clans fans are speculating that the plethora of new features that the September 2016 Clash of Clans update would introduce are means for Supercell to battle the Pokémon GO behemoth. After all, if there's something that Clash of Clans has that Pokémon GO doesn't, it is a legion of loyal fans.

Pokémon GO to Bow Down to CoC?

While toppling Pokémon GO might seem like a tall order, there is actually a chance for Supercell to fight back against Pokémon GO. As it is, Pokémon GO is a far cry from what avid Pokémon fans expect the game to be, and it has shown in the game's statistics. Over the last month alone, millions of Pokémon GO fans quit the game, citing the title's lack of features and generally buggy experience.

Thus, a veteran title like Clash of Clans, in the hands of a capable developer like Supercell, can very well take the throne of mobile gaming yet again.
