Fans of The Amazing Race were stunned when the popular reality competition series was left off the schedule for CBS' upcoming Fall lineup, and unfortunately, it stkill doesn't seem like there's any good news concerning whether or not the show will return sooner rather than later.

CBS has stayed quiet about the fate of the show's 29th season, which has only frustrated fans who just want to know if it will be simply delayed until later in the Fall, or if it won't be back until the Spring, and one fan decided to ask show host Phil Keoghan for an update on Twitter. But sadly, the 28-time host didn't have anything new to add other than his own hopes that it would be back soon, though it wasn't going to be soon enough for his liking.

"Hi Phil....When does the new #AmazingRace start?" The fan asked. "...#AmazingRace not soon enough," he responded. He had a similar response to another fan's similar question, confirming that the filming for the season had wrapped and he was excited to be able to share it with fans again, but that he didn't know when that would be.

"With you on that one...Can't wait to share #TAR29 with you #AmazingRace #TheWorldIsWaitingForYou," he wrote.

The 29th season was filmed earlier this summer, and according to various posts on social media and in other online forums, it did appear that producers did change the format for the show in the new season when it came to teams. Similarly to season 26's blind dates set-up, it appeared all racers were teams of one, but after they completed their first task, they would be paired off, meaning the teams once again consisted of strangers who didn't have a preexisting relationship.

Though the premise didn't work as far as love connections went in season 26, it did appear to work in the show's favor at least when it came to the teams faring well. The final three teams to cross the finish line all consisted of "blind date" pairs, with Laura and Tyler winning the race overall, Jenny and Jelani coming in second, and Hayley and Blair coming in third.
