Something strange lies in Argentina, and it might very well be the key to understanding a number of supernatural phenomena in the region.

Recently, a group of researchers and filmmakers have discovered something interesting in a marshy area in the country. In an untouched area in the landscape lies a perfectly round island, moving on its own in a circular lake.

A Mysterious Island - The Eye

The circular island was fondly called The Eye by those who first noticed its strange appearance on Google Earth. Led by Sergio Neuspillerm, a film production team attempted to reach the mysterious island. Eventually, they did reach the area, and what they found was quite unique.

The waters around The Eye was quite unlike those in the marshy areas around the island. It was noted by the filmmakers that the waters around the circular island were clear and cold, unlike the warm, murky waters in the surrounding areas. Apart from this, the ground in the area was also hard, which is quite unique for a marshy area, which is usually very muddy and soft.

A UFO Veteran Weighs In

While the filmmakers are not claiming that The Eye is certainly UFO-related, many UFO aficionados have stated that the strange occurrences in the area, coupled with The Eye's unique characteristics, make it a probable site for an alien base. Among the believers of this theory is popular UFO hunter Scott Waring, who stated that he believes The Eye contains a UFO facility under it.

"Argentina has an overabundance of UFO sightings compared to the rest of the world and I believe this is how aliens try to hide this particular entrance to their base. The shape is large and circular, big enough to fit a 100-meter UFO through it. The water below this floating island needs to be dived into and explored," Waring said.

A Kickstarter Project for an Expedition

The researchers who discovered The Eye are planning a more elaborate, thorough expedition to the mysterious island and the waters beneath it. Thus, the group has started a Kickstarter campaign that aims to raise the necessary funds for such an undertaking. According to the group, the expedition would include scientists, biologists, ufologists and other people who can figure out the mysteries of the perfectly-circular island.

Currently, the Kickstarter campaign has reached $5,303 out of its $50,000 goal. With 40 more days to go, there is a pretty good chance that a full-scale expedition to The Eye might happen very soon.
