While Supercell has remained as one of the world's most engaging game developers, there is no doubt that the company is struggling to keep its two biggest hits, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, relevant to the mobile gaming market. With big players like Pokemon GO dominating the industry, Supercell needs to do something drastic to endear players to its addictive strategy-based games once more.

Clash Royale September 2016 Update

Unfortunately for Supercell, it appears like the rather small developer is struggling to keep its biggest titles afloat, with some disgruntled players stating that the game is dying. With the Clash Royale September update coming, however, it seems like Supercell is going for broke.

Rumors are high that the September update would, in more ways than one, redefine the Clash Royale gaming experience. The developer's previous patches seem to confirm this, too, as a couple of balance changes and updates to the trophy system have been implemented by the developer last month. If any, these patches seem to be preparing the game for something pretty massive.

Clash Royale Tournaments Update

Most speculations point to the notion that Supercell would be initiating huge changes to the game's mechanics. Among the most discussed would be Tournaments, which, so far, have been open only to paying players. With the current setup, the smallest Tournaments cost $5 to enter. According to recent rumors, this system would be drastically changed.

With the September update, Tournaments would most likely be reduced in price, possibly down to $1 for the small-scale ones. A system where Gems are used as currency to enter Tournaments is also rumored to be in the works.

Clash Royale Legendary Cards Update

Another particularly tricky aspect of the game is the utilization of Legendary Cards. According to persistent rumors among Clash Royale forums and fans, there is a pretty good chance that Supercell would drastically lower the cost of purchasing Legendary Cards.

Clash Royale Nerfs, Buffs and Balancing Updates

Rumors are also high that the Clash Royale September 2016 update would feature a number of nerfs and buffs. Giants and Wizards, for one, are speculated to get their HP decreased by 5 percent, while Giant Skeletons would get a 5 percent damage boost. Other units, such as the Three Musketeers and the Prince, would also get their attack power nerfed.

Of course, other units, such as the Mini Pekka, which has been rumored to be scheduled for a nerf, would probably get its due, as well.

Clash Royale September Update Release Date

While Supercell has not released the exact date when the September update would be rolled out, rumors are high that the game would probably receive the all-important patch over the air sometime around the latter half of September 2016.
