Kirk Cousins is a married man.

As the quarterback prepares to take the field with his team, the Washington Redskins, to battle it out with the Pittsburgh Steelers during tonight's episode of Monday Night Football, we're sharing a few details you may not know about the handsome athlete and his partner.

In 2013, Cousins, who had been dating Julie Hampton for about two years, proposed to the stunning brunette on a state building in front of the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

"I was extremely nervous. On the way down driving the car, as we got close to the Capitol building I was holding her hand and she goes, ‘Why are your hands cold and sweaty?’ I said, ‘I don’t know,’ but I knew it was because I was super nervous," Cousins told The Washington Post after the proposal took place.

Immediately after getting engaged, Cousins made it clear that he was not interested in an extended engagement and months later, in June 2014, he and Hampton tied the knot in Atlanta, where Hampton grew up.

Although Cousins and his wife, who works as a school teacher, haven't yet welcomed any children, they do have a very cute dog named Bentley (seen above).

Monday Night Football starts tonight, September 12, at 8 p.m. The game between the Redskins and the Steelers marks the first MNF event of the 2016-2017 season.
