Dr. Oz suggested positive ways to lose weight to help people get ready for summer.

In Thursday's episode of The Dr. Oz Show, the host talked about how documentary filmmaker and health advocate Joe Cross lost weight through a 60-day-juice cleanse. Following the successful endeavor, Cross came up with a strategy that would enable people to lose weight through juice diets.

Juicing floods the system with powerful nutrients and antioxidants, and may help retrain the taste buds to enjoy fruits and vegetables. According to Dr. Fuhrman - a nutritional researcher and author of The Super Immunity Diet, who appeared on the Dr. Oz show last year - juicing may help people with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. It also is good for those who may suffer from autoimmune diseases like arthritis, digestive problems and skin conditions.

In a previous episode Dr. Oz also talked about the benefits of acacia powder, which works like a detoxification when sprinkled on food. It enables one who consumes it to feel full, and therefore eat less. He suggested combining green tea and honey, along with the acacia powder to speed up metabolism.

Friday's episode was called The Swimsuit Diet, a method developed at Harvard to facilitate losing five pounds in five days, according to azfamily.com.

Dr. Oz also talked about the Deepak Chopra mental cleanse this week.
