Lady Gaga is officially the Super Bowl halftime show performer for 2017!

Gaga confirmed Thursday that she would be the halftime show at next year's Super Bowl, amid weeks of rumors that she was "in talks" to perform. The singer spread the news on social media that the Super Bowl would be "going Gaga" in February:

Gaga has experience at the Super Bowl, with the eccentric singer performing the National Anthem at the 2016 event, earning rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. This has been a big year for Gaga, performing at the Super Bowl, performing a tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys, being nominated for an Oscar for her and Diane Warren's song "Til It Happens to You", winning a Golden Globe for acting in American Horror Story: Hotel, putting out her first pop single in three years, "Perfect Illusion", and having her new album, Joanne, out on Oct. 21.

So what songs should Gaga have in her set list for the upcoming Super Bowl performance? In the past, halftime performers have done between five and 10 songs, so it's possible she could just perform her greatest hits. These include "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Bad Romance", "Born This Way", "The Edge of Glory", "You and I" and "Applause". Throw in a few songs from Joanne, like "Perfect Illusion", and we could have a massively entertaining show.

Of course, it is Gaga so we should probably expect her to throw in a few surprises. The musician has performed various covers over the past few years, from 4 Non Blondes' "What's Up" to Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" to John Lennon's "Imagine". The massive scale of the Super Bowl halftime show could provide for some huge, anthemic moments, with Gaga possibly singing some of most iconic songs in history.

And speaking of Queen, one song that's been on many Little Monsters' wishlist over the years is their '80s hit "Radio Ga Ga", a.k.a. the origin of her name. Considering Queen's Brian May plays electric guitar on Gaga's "You and I", there could be a pretty seamless transition.
