Columbus Day has arrived once again, and as Americans celebrate the man who is often credited with finding the land that one day became our country, New York City is once again preparing to celebrate with the biggest event for the month of October-the Columbus Day Parade.

The parade, which honors Columbus and Italian-American Heritage is set to occur on the holiday itself with 35,000 people marching through the streets of the city.

Here's everything you need to know about the big event:

When: Today, Monday, October 10, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Where: Fifth Avenue, between 44th and 72nd streets, with red carpet performances between 67th and 69th streets

TV Broadcast: ABC from Noon-3:00 p.m.

Who Will Be There: This year's parade is being led by Grand Marshal Robert LaPenta, the founding general partner of Aston Capital Partners.

"Mr. LaPenta is a game changer in the world of business, and we are incredibly honored to have him not only as Grand Marshal of this year's parade but also as a member of out foundation," Angelo Vivolo, President of the Columbus Citizens Foundation said in a statement.

LaPenta will be joined by fellow honorees, chef Mario Batali and former Lands' End CEO Federica Marchionni.
