They are the two retailers known for having some of the biggest discount offerings over Black Friday weekend, and on the heels of Macy's announcing they would open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Night this year, both they and Kohl's have unveiled their plans to help shoppers save big and shop with them even more throughout the holiday season. 

In a press release, Macy's announced their plans to help shoppers find the perfect gifts for everyone on their list, from the fashionista, to the athlete, tech fanatic and master chef. 

"No time of year inspires the sentiments of love, caring and generosity quite like the holiday season," Kathy Hilt, senior vice-president of MyStylist@Macy's said in the release. "This year, we've truly topped ourselves with the most unique assortment of gifts for every person on your list. Plus, if you need a little help, Macy's dedicated gift specialists at My Stylist@Macy's make picking the perfect present easier than ever."   

Among the gifts the company suggests in their press release are Jewel-embellished slip-ons from MICHAEL Michael Kors, a signature Mickey Mouse wristlet from Coach, funnel neck hoodies and tights from Nike, Calvin Klein Performance logo joggers and sweaters,I.N.C. International Concepts faux fur-trimmed glitter moccasins, ALfani velvet sports coats, Ray-Ban singlasses, Kenneth Cole Raction Wallets, Impulse cosmetics sets, Kiehl's kits, Michael Kors Access Bradshaw digital smart watches, Brookstone headphones, Samsung Gear VR Oculus, Star Shower, endless toys for kids, and items for the home including a new copper barware line by Martha Stewart Collection.  

The company is also bringing back several of their gifts that give back, including the Heart of Haiti Collection, as well as their yearly "Yes, Virginia," initiative, where ten percent of the purchase price of each illustrated storybook or animated special DVD from the collection will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation. 

It's unclear if any of these items will be included in the deals offered for Black Friday.  

Kohl's meanwhile is unveiling their plans for helping shoppers not only save with special incentives, but also by trying to make the shopping experience as eays as possible.  

"Kohl's delivers what customers want this holiday-we're easy to shop, we have the best gifts and out value is unbeatable," Michelle Gass, Kohl's chief merchandising and customer officer said in a press release. "We're delivering the most exciting gifts of the season, including top national brands like American Girl, Nike, Fitbit and more. We have great toold that make shopping easier and more personalized. The incredible savings opportunities Kohl's is famous for, like Kohl's Cash and Yes2You Rewards, will give customers the value they want for the holidays and can only find at Kohl's."  

The company plans to make things easier with Kohl's Pay, a mobile payment option which integrates the Kohl's Charge card into the Kohl's app, as well as Masterpass, another digital payment experience.  

In addition the company will also expand their Black Friday Kohl's Cash offer of $15 for every $50 spent, which will be offered to shoppers from Monday, November 21 through Saturday, November 26, in addition to their Yes2You Rewards program giving members a $5 reward for every 100 points earned (1 point per dollar spent), and extra savings for those who have or open a Kohl's Charge card.  

Kohl's has not announced any other plans regarding Black Friday.
