After auditioning three times for the show, Candice Glover made it onto American Idol and this season, fans will see her in the finale episode battling it out for one last time.

But does she have what it takes to win?

In the opinion of AI judge Nicki Minaj, the contestant has already persevered through so much that she has the real potential to take home the win when the finale airs on May 16. The rapper was moved to tears on Wednesday night during the airing of Glover's hometown visit to Beaufort. After Glover took the stage to perform Emeli Sande's Next To Me, Minaj said she is an inspiration to women everywhere.

"Women suffer from so much insecurity about who they are and how they look and I have to say, you seem to be the most confident woman on that stage every single night. And I love that about you because you're going to inspire so many women all around the world," Minaj told Glover.

"And that's not just black, it's every woman, no matter who they are, no matter what they look like. You just come on that stage and you just own who you are. And it's reflected when you sing, every time you sing."

Glover and fellow contestant Kree Harrison will perform on the finale Wednesday, airing from 8 to 10 p.m. on FOX. The winner will be announced during Thursday's results show, airing from 8 to 10 p.m.

On Thursday night Glover tweeted the following, in anticipation for the finale:

Shortly after it was annouced that she would move on to the finale, Glover tweeted, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!?!?!?! #Top2 I still haven't grasped the thought of this. Like....what is happening."
