What exactly is going on with Dancing With the Stars pro Sharna Burgess?

Burgess was sidelined two weeks ago during rehearsals with her celebrity partner, James Hinchcliffe. Fellow pro Jenna Johnson has been filling in for her as she rehabs her injured knee and while she hoped to dance with her partner on Monday, it was decided that it was best if she sit out for another week.

Speaking with reporters after Monday night's show, Burgess spoke about sitting on the sidelines.

"It was a last-minute decision we made today on whether I was going to dance or not tonight," she explained, via People. "I prefer dancing with him, but I love watching him dance a lot. I was filled with pride."

Hinchcliffe and Johnson performed Jazz to the song "A Brand New Day" from The Wiz Monday night, receiving a 36 out of 40 from the judges. They also performed a duet Paso doble with Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold, receiving a 37 out of 40. Hinchcliffe's high scores combined with America's vote advanced him further into the competition - the Final 5.

Burgess doesn't know at this time if she will be able to return to Dancing With the Stars as a pro this season, though she is hopeful.

"I want to say 100 percent," she said, when discussing her chances of returning to the ballroom next week. "But I genuinely thought I 100 percent would be back this week, so it's hard for me to throw that number out there."

Either way, it's about not risking permanent damage in the end.

"I just have to take it day by day and continue to make the right decision for my career," she said. "But it's really difficult. I love every single thing about this season with James. It's my favorite season and I don't want to miss out on any of it."

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
