Lipsticks are kind of that flaky friend you can never count on in your time of need. Seriously, lipsticks, get your act together.
If you want your lipstick to stay on, you're essentially given two options. Option one, opt for a sheer balm that won't look terrible when wiped clean by turkey and pumpkin pie. Option two, go for a super matte that will make your lips feel dryer than paper. Not a cute look in the least, but hey: at least you got options, right?
Come Thanksgiving, you need a lipstick that will last all through dinner and dessert. You also don't have to be bound to a sheer wash of color because, hey, it's kind of the kickoff to holiday season. When else are you going to wear your deepest wine and berry shades?
These lipsticks have non-budge formulas that are so good, your Aunt Lucy might ask you if they're tattooed.
Kylie Lip Kit in Spice -- $29
I know, I know: it's a Kylie lip kit. But in all seriousness, the stuff does NOT budge. Like, trust me, you'll be wearing the stuff on Black Friday because it won't come off for a full 24 hours.
While virtually all the kits have the staying power of a Stage 5 clinger, I personally love Spice to pair with heavy mascara and a bold brow (and plenty of stuffing.)
Yes, it's a blue lipstick. It's actually more of a blue-purple. But this lippie is so pigmented and so badass that even your most conservative family members will have to take a step back and fangirl over it. As for the staying power? I wore this through a dinner date, drinks and well into the following morning. It didn't budge.
To be totally honest, I didn't expect much when I first tried this Revlon liquid lipstick. Sure, it was a beautiful color and it went on more like a gloss, but when in tried -- whoa. It didn't do that thing that matte liquid lipsticks tend to do where they settle into your fine lines and lip wrinkles, it just glided over them and masked them beautifully. In all, this was definitely one of the best mattes I've ever found in a drugstore.
