It's not been so long till OnePlus 3 release and the company released its successor OnePlus 3T. This new smartphone boasts some improvements over the original OnePlus 3, especially in processing power. Is it worth upgrading the last phone or not? Check out the details here.

Almost all features are same in OnePlus 3T. Device size is 6.01×2.94×0.29 inches and weight is 5.57 oz. It has 5.5 inch AMOLED screen with 1080×1920 pixels. Both runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow / Oxygen OS. Instead of only 64GB storage, there is another option available which is 128GB storage. Both smartphones have 6GB RAM.

The main difference between these devices is the processor. OnePlus 3 is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and OnePlus 3T is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 runs at a higher frequency and it can process more in a shorter amount of time than Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. There is only 10 percent increase in performance of 821 over 820.

16 MP primary camera with 4K video support and 16GB front camera as well in OnePlus 3T. Selfie lovers will definitely be happy after hearing this because there are not many phones currently in the market which provides 16MP with such quality. The battery is slightly improved. Previously it was 3000mAh and now it is 3400mAh. There is a new color option soft gold is added instead of only Graphite.

According to The Verge, this smartphone does not support CDMA networks such as Verizon or Sprint and no water resistance which is very common in phones nowadays.

OnePlus is available on the market for $399 while the price of OnePlus 3T is $40 more and of 128GB variant is $80 more than that.

The OnePlus 3T faces direct competition from the LeEco Le Pro3, which uses the same processor with less RAM for $400. But the Le Pro3 suffers from unintuitive software, has a less vibrant display and doesn't last as long as the 3T. Google's Pixel phones also use the same processors, offering similar (if not better) performance in a premium frame. But the Pixel lineup starts at $800, which is near twice the OnePlus 3T's asking price. Indeed, the latest OnePlus handset is probably the best handset you're going to find for around $440, as written in a review of OnePlus 3T in Engadget.

Overall, OnePlus 3T has a faster processor, better battery, and front camera, added an option for bigger internal storage and added color option than OnePlus 3. Still, it is not worth upgrade for someone who already has OnePlus 3, but people who are looking for the best smartphone in mid-range than it is the perfect fit.
