Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens may not be featured in High School Musical 4. Recent reports also suggest that Taylor Swift may play the part of Gabriella.

The buzz around High School Musical 4 has been growing and after rumor mills hinted at the reunion of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in the film as well as in real life, now it is being said that the lead pair may not feature in the fourth installment.

It is rumored that not only Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, the original cast members might also be absent from the proposed High School Musical 4. It is being said that the executives of the movie have given out a casting call for the movie. What is more, speculations also hint at Taylor Swift taking on the role of Hudgens as there are stories of her and Efron dating each other secretly, reports FX News call.

Well, this is bad news for Efron and Hudgens's fans but they need not lose heart as these speculations have not been confirmed either by Disney or the two stars. On the contrary, there are faint rumors that the duo has already started the shooting of the movie. Also, it has brought them closer, causing Hudgens to break up with her boyfriend Austin Butler, claims Morning Ledger. Notably, it was being said from a long time that Butler is not in favor of Hudgens and Efron reprising their roles.

Now that the two started shooting, Butler split from his girlfriend as he thought that their romance would be too hot to handle for him. However, critics say that all these are just promotion gimmicks and they are together. They are not foolish to throw away a relationship that has stood the course of five years for the sake of a movie.

This sounds convincing as Hudgens has not spoken about her breakup and all she has said about Butler has been highly appreciative. She said in August that she is lucky to have Butler as boyfriend as she has never seen someone who works so hard on their craft and well-being.

Well, High School Musical 4 is truly one of the most-awaited movies and everyone wants to see Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens together but till Disney makes an official announcement, nothing can be confirmed. So, fans need to take the rumors with a pinch of salt.
