Other fan favorites who departed the show in recent years have been making some big returns and cameos in Salem over the last year or so, and the newest arrivals to head back to town could also be an indicator that the very much missed Sami Brady (Allison Sweeney) may consider popping up again on Days of Our Lives!

It was confirmed a few months ago that Christie Clark and Austin Peck would be bringing Carrie Brady and Austin Reed back to the canvas in 2017, and Clark recently confirmed in an interview with Glamour that she and her on-screen husband would be making their big return by January 11, and they would have a big story to tell despite only being back for a short span of about six episodes.

Among the surprises will be that Carrie and Austin are officially parents this time around, and fans may even get a chance to meet their child, though Clark isn't saying much about her character's turn at motherhood.

"It's a little boy, and you'll have to tune in to find out his name. It's terribly exciting that Carrie finally has a child with Austin. It's awesome!" She said.  

However, the bigger reveal Clark gave was just who she felt may pop up in Salem again if her character was to return once more for a longer arc, especially a more permanent one-and that reveal is the one that could genuinely get fans excited again as it involves a character who left the canvas at the end of 2014 and made a brief cameo during the 50th anniversary in 2015.

"You know, they've never been in Salem without Sami, and it's a different thing and it would be exciting to experience that," she said. "I have a feeling that it Austin and Carrie were in Salem, Sami would not be far behind. I don't think she could help herself with getting back to Salem. There's so much to tell as far as [Austin's] mother issues [and] Carrie's mother issues. It would be so much more fun to explore so many different elements of these characters and maybe have a second child, and just dealing with being a lawyer, a mother, and life."

However, for now, it doesn't appear that Sami, or her portrayer Sweeney, will be making a return to the show.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
