Apple's new wireless iPhone accessory, the much-hyped AirPods, have been so in-demand this holiday season that people have been having difficulty trying to track them down. Many of those who pre-ordered the AirPods are still waiting for the delivery as Apple appears to be struggling to meet the high demand for the device. It's a good thing, however, that reports indicate that Apple is doing what it can to increase its AirPods manufacturing.

Orders of AirPods are taking 6 months to ship. According to the Chinese outlet Economic Daily News, the manufacturer of Apple's AirPods is presently expanding its production capacity for the said wireless accessory.

DigiTimes report shows that because Apple is seeing an incredible demand and strong sales for the AirPods, the device's manufacturer, Inventec, is expanding AirPods production at the Shanghai plants. This move is also expected to benefit Inventec, the same report claims.

DigiTimes also revealed that the AirPods manufacturer is working overtime to meet the order demands, which skyrocketed during the year-end holidays. However, Inventec has declined to confirm this detail.

The Apple AirPods are currently the tech giant's hottest and latest product. Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook had also said that the AirPods have been a "runaway success." Despite this declaration, Apple has yet to release the actual numbers for the AirPods.

The company has also missed out on the prime holiday shopping season of 2016 because it struggled to meet the unexpectedly huge demand for the wireless earbuds.

The AirPods were revealed back in September alongside the iPhone 7. They were supposed to be launched in October, but the release was moved several times all the way up to Christmas.

The AirPods were among the hottest Christmas presents and stocking stuffers over this holiday season. But despite the holidays having come and gone, consumers are still seeking to get their hands on the AirPods, which is good news for Apple.

The Apple AirPods are available at the price of $159 and can be ordered directly via Apple's online store.
