As the days of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 finale are drawing near, the curiosity of the fans is also getting higher and everyone seems to have the same query on their lips. Will Nina Dobrev return and reunite with Ian Somerhalder?

Well, there is no clear answer as yet but the recent Instagram update of Nina Dobrev has gotten fans excited and they feel that she might be returning to The Vampire Diaries Season 8. The Bulgarian actress recently posted on Instagram her new relationship status which said that she was already "off the market," leading fans to believe that she is dating a new man. This speculation has also led them to believe that chances of her comeback are high.

Notably, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder started dating each other in real life as well during the shooting of The Vampire Diaries. However, after their breakup, Nina allegedly left the show. Their breakup did not happen on a good note.

So, many were doubtful about her return to the final season of The CW show. However, the hopes are still alive and the recent update from the actress has the given the fans, even more, reasons to look forward to her comeback.

In the meantime, CW President Mark Pedowitz has said something cryptic about the return of Dobrev, reports Entertainment Weekly. At the press tour of the Television Critics Association, he was asked if Nina would make an appearance in the series finale and Pedowitz replied that the best way he can answer that question is Julie Plec, Kevin Williamson, the studio, and The CW promise a fantastic series finale.

Speaking of Julie Plec, she had also said that Nina Dobrev has always maintained that if there is something for her to do in the series finale she will be there to do it. According to her, when Dobrev left the show she had said that she wants to see this character (Elena) to its end at the end of the show. Hence, she cannot wait to come back and put her to bed again. No doubt, fans are hopeful of seeing her at last.

The finale of The Vampire Diaries series is scheduled to air on March 10 at 8:00 p.m. on The CW. In the meantime, watch the official teaser for Episode 9 below.
