Nina Dobrev dropped hints concerning her return in "The Vampire Dairies" finale which is set to air on March 10, 2017. She may or may have not spilled conclusive hints, Julie Plec, the executive producer of the series is hundred percent sure that Dobrev's character, Katherine will make her epic comeback.

Katherine played by Nina might be joining Damon and Stefan in the grand finale of the said hit series. Though she is busy with promoting "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," the actress encountered questions about her possible return in the show.

Since fans and many of the series' viewers have been expecting for her epic return, Nina Dobrev entertained questions and dropped hints if she will really return or not. As per Hollywood Life, Nina said that she doesn't have told secrets in the past and that definitely she doesn't want to start at that moment. She also shared that she is not allowed to talk about that issue.

Nina's answers left the fans and the viewers hanging as to her return in "The Vampire Diaries" finale. According to Plec, she and Nina both love the idea that the actress will return in the show. She even shared to Entertainment Tonight that she is 100% sure that people will be able to see Katherine once again as she would join Damon and Stefan.

However, one report added that the only problem the management and the actress have right now is the scheduling. Perhaps, since Dobrev has a lot of commitments at the moment, the show's management has a hard time looking for a fitting schedule to start filming.

Nina Dobrev will return as Katherine and not as Elena if this really will materialize. Elena can't return unless Bonnie will be killed. But that seems to be impossible since in the upcoming episodes, she is seen wearing Enzo's blood.

This brings to an assumption and guess that Nina will reprise her role as Katherine instead of Elena and people will see her joining Stefan and Damon who live in hell where she is.

Because of her intriguing hints, it' very likely that Nina Dobrev will return as Katherine in "The Vampire Diaries" finale even without the need for Julie Plec's confirmation.
