Those who have been closely following the "Biohazard: Heavenly Island" manga series will likely be disappointed to know that the series will apparently be coming to an end. The series is scheduled to end this month with the fifth and final issues set to arrive sometime this week.

The announcement itself was made on the ninth issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion, as reported by Anime News Network. The manga series, based on the popular "Resident Evil" franchise, is written by Naoki Serizawa. The Japanese artist is also well known for his work on other Resident Evil-based novels, including "Resident Evil, Vol. 4: The Marhawa Desire."

The "Resident Evil - Biohazard: Heavenly Island" manga series originally debuted in the Weekly Shonen Champion back in January 2015. Ever since then, the manga series has experienced numerous delays in its release due to a number of hiatuses taken by its creators, as per a report from Crunchyroll. The manga's 10-episode fourth volume compilation was released back in September 2016.

The entire novel series is set in a remote island in South America. The story revolves around TerraSave's Claire Redfield and Inéz Diaco as they investigate a potential biological hazard threat in the island. Coincidentally, a film crew and several idols are also in the island to film the latest reality television program called "Idol" Survival.

The TV program involves different contests that swimsuit-clad idols must compete in. The TerraSave agents soon find out that the island could very well be the starting point of a brand new outbreak, and it is up to them to get to the bottom of it all.

Claire's life, along with her partner and everyone else on the island is now in great danger, and the operatives must do everything they can to survive long enough to keep the outbreak from spreading. The novel is revealed to be a tie-in to "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" and "Umbrella Corps." However, it is set right after the events of "Resident Evil 6."
