Powerless premieres Thursday night on NBC, starring the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk and Alan Tudyk!

In this culture of superhero overkill, whatever happened to the guys on the ground? That's the central premise of Powerless, NBC's new sitcom that takes place in the DC universe. Hudgens stars as Emily Locke, Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, which specializes in helping everyday citizens stay safe as superheroes and supervillains do battle.

Pudi plays Emily's prankster best friend Teddy, while Kirk plays her assistant Jackie, who is obsessed with superheroes. Tudyk plays Bruce Wayne's cousin, Van Wayne, the new boss in the building who is just a little bit mad with power.

The series also stars Ron Funches as Ron, a member of the I.T. department who still loves superheroes.

"In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer," says NBC. "Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss Van Wayne (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don't need superpowers to be a hero."

Powerless premieres Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, and lasts for a half hour. If you cannot watch the broadcast on television, you can live stream it in select markets here. It is also available to stream in select markets on Sling TV.
