The return of "Veep" Season 6 will be finally seen on the small screen as HBO officially confirmed its release this 2017. The show's main star Louis-Dreyfuss, who plays the role of the former vice president and president Selina Meyer, also announced their comeback in a Twitter post.

In a very short clip, Louis-Dreyfuss revealed the official release of "Veep" Season 6 on HBO. The 56-year-old actress was holding a huge white board, which indicated the time and date of their return to the television.

"Extra! Extra! Read all about it! New season of 'veep!'" Louis-Dreyfuss captioned the three-seconder video. From the looks of it, the comedienne was inside the Oval Office while excitedly dancing and grinning while holding the placard for "Veep" Season 6, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Veep" Season 6 is believed to pick up the events that happened in the previous season. To recall, Selina along with her team pursued a brave but messy political fight for her to win the presidential seat. However, things got more complicated when the Electoral College vote's end result was a tie.

To break the dead heat, the Senate has to decide and it elected Sen. Laura Montez (Andrea Savage) instead of Selina to be the new president. Hence, the fifth season ended with Selina sitting in the pouring rain with some of her staff while listening to the newly elected leader's parade. In "Veep" Season 6, fans are wondering what will be the next step of the former vice president after she loses.

Moreover, before "Veep" Season 6 kicks off, it has received a lot of honors at the recent DGA Awards. It got the Best Directing Comedy Series award and even Julia-Louis Dreyfuss acquired the most Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series at the SAG Award, Deadline reported. The 10-episode political satire television series will start to air on April 16 at around 10:30 p.m.
