Selena Gomez is pointing to Lupus as the main cause for her mental meltdown in 2015. This is contrary to negative rumors saying that extreme partying and alcohol abuse are the real reasons behind's the "Same Old Love" singer's rehab stint.

The former Disney Star also revealed that anxiety, panic attacks and depression are just some of the possible side effects of this disease. As reported by People, it is just good that Selena Gomez took a time off from Hollywood and admitted herself into rehab before it was too late.

And now, Selena Gomez is back. And not just to retain her place as the most followed person on Instagram but moreover to spread awareness regarding depression, bullying, suicide and emotional abuse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Love You Like a Love Song" singer is one of the executive producers for the new Netflix series, "13 Reasons Why". The new TV series is about a high school student who took her own life and the reasons why she did it.

The project has been very close to Selena Gomez's heart because the production coincided with her own personal struggle. More than the popularity of Social Media platforms like Instagram, the singer and actress believes that these mental health issues are the ones that should be highlighted.

Selena Gomez also revealed that she is not as interested on Social Media anymore although she still retains her title as "Queen of Instagram". Especially since the "Hands to Myself" singer has already survived three months without using her cellphone during her stay in rehab.
