Amber Rose and Dancing With the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy have officially broken up.

Rose and Chmerkovskiy decided to end their five-month relationship. the pair had met through Dancing With the Stars this past season, where Rose was paired with Chmerkovskiy's brother, Maks Chmerkovskiy.

Both Rose and Val confirmed the news that they had broken up on their respective Instagram pages. They both posted screenshots of notes they wrote addressing their ended relationship.

"I'm addressing this topic solely in hopes that after reading y'all will stop spamming my posts," Val wrote. "We decided to end our relationship a week ago, and did so with humility and understanding. She's an amazing woman that I feel very lucky to have gotten to know and love. An amazing mother, an awesome friend, a loving human period. Reserved, poised, and loyal. To stress that to the more common folk 'she loyal af.'"

Val went on to write that they live "very different lives" and that things just didn't work out in the end, but he will continue to defend her against trolls. He noted that he will defend Rose as the "INCREDIBLE MOTHER THAT SHE IS TO HER SON! It's hard to do it all by yourself especially while the world stares and judges... but she does. every single day.... for that alone I'll always have her back." Rose was similarly regretful that things didn't work out, though still happy to have experienced this relationship overall. She wrote in her note that they broke up "due to our own personal reasons but we still care about each other tremendously and we love each other's families even more."
