"How I Met Your Mother" fans can now rejoice as the much-awaited spin-off of the show is finally pushing through. Yes, "How I Met Your Father" is really happening.

"How I Met Your Father" is already in the works at 20th TV. Respected "This is Us" writers have also been commissioned to write the script of the spin-off. Writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will be tasked to bring to life the "How I Met Your Mother" magic that has captivated fans for years.

As one may have guessed already, "How I Met Your Father" will be similar in context with "How I Met Your Mother". The whole story line will focus on how the female lead star will eventually end up or fall in love, at least, with the father of her children.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will still be involved (though, indirectly) with "How I Met Your Father". Bays and Thomas are the geniuses behind the success of the much-loved CBS TV Series, "How I Met Your Mother".

"How I Met Your Father" is not the first time that the original creators, Bays, and Thomas, have tried to produce and write a spin-off based in "How I Met Your Mother".

There has been the infamous "How I Met Your Dad" in 2014. Much to the fans' dismay, the CBS TV series did not pursue after the shoot of the first episode. According to A.V. Club, Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, has divulged that there were some elements that did not work in the shelved spin-off CBS TV Series.

Fans are now just hoping that Aptaker and Berger will be able to give a new but familiar flavor that will make "How I Met Your Father" as brilliant and funny as "How I Met Your Mother". This is because almost all spin-offs do not click as well as their original TV Series.
