"The Originals" Season 4 is all set to return next week and the trailer of the upcoming season is out in the open, showing the dead Camille with Klaus in his cell. So, has she come back? Showrunner Michael Narducci explains the comeback.

"The Originals" Season 4 is coming back after almost a year and the trailer signals the return of Camille. According to Buddy TV, the trailer shows Klaus crying out in pain, calling Camille and she appears behind him in his prison. This has led to conjectures if Cami would return in "The Originals" Season 4. However, her presence is more likely to be a hallucination, caused by the turbulent state of mind, Klaus is in.

Still, some are hopeful of seeing her back in "The Originals" Season 4. Notably, Camille died in Klaus' arms in Season 3 and later on, he took revenge for her death. Since the trailer shows them together, it is most likely to be a dream sequence where he is imagining her.

In related news, "The Originals" showrunner Michael Narducci has said that Camille was someone who had a massive impact on the entire cast of characters but Klaus was the most affected, Entertainment Weekly claimed. He emphasized that the words spoken by her before her death were echoing in his mind throughout the trial and the incarceration.

Though "The Originals" has taken a five-year leap, Klaus' sacrifice is still fresh in the minds of viewers. According to Narducci, Klaus was in deep pain all these years and it will take him some time to come out of it. "The Originals" Season 4 will see him struggle a bit and the audience will also get to know how he dealt with the trauma during those five years. In fact, Camille's return is associated with Klaus' mental state and struggle.

"The Originals" Season 4 returns to The CW on March 17 at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
