Gretchen Rossi revealed in recent interview that family struggles have affected her relationship with her co-stars, particularly Lydia McLaughlin.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star and her fiancé Slade Smiley have experienced some rough patches while season 8 of Real Housewives of Orange County was being filmed. She said while personal issues were going on in her life, she felt a strain on her evolving friendship with her newest co-star.

“I don't think her and I got off on the right foot in the very beginning 'cause [Slade and I] were dealing with just so much," Rossi said about her relationship with McLaughlin, according to Wetpaint. "Starting a new friendship takes so much energy to put into that, and [Slade] and I were just traveling so much and dealing with Grayson."

Slade's son Grayson was facing medical issues during taping for season 8 of the show and in a recent episode it was revealed that he underwent surgery.

Rossi said her relationship with McLaughlin was strained from the beginning. She said "the couple times" she spent time with her co-star, she felt McLaughlin "was very judgmental" toward her.

However, the two have worked through their relationship and are now reportedly friends.

"I actually like Lydia," said Rossi. "I think from Lydia's point of view, she thought that I didn't want to be friends with her because of her relationship with Alexis [Bellino], and it had absolutely nothing to do with Alexis."

In episode 10 of Real Housewives of Orange County, titled Viva Mexico ,Tamra Barney celebrates her bachelorette party. Things get tense when Rossi, the one put in charge of the party, senses that co-star Vicki Gunvalson tries to help with planning. See a oreview clip for the episode below.

Episode 10 will air on Bravo Monday, June 3 at 9/8 p.m. Central.
