Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid Split: Is Perrie Edwards Making Ex-Boyfriend Jealous? Former One Direction Singer Talks About Past Relationship

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid seemed to be in perfect harmony but the former One Direction singer recently admitted that love has hurt him in the past. Could he be possibly referring to his ex-fiancé, Perrie Edwards?

In December 2011, Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards met on the set of the 8th series of "The X Factor." By May 2012, the couple became an item and later announced their engagement in August 2013.

Zayn Malik is so head over heels about Perrie Edwards that he has a portrait of the Little Mix singer tattooed on his bicep. Rumors had it that his former girlfriend has something to do with his decision to quit One Direction.

However, in July 2015, Perrie Edwards revealed that Zayn Malik broke up with her through a text message. She describes it as the worst time in her life. "A four-year relationship, two-year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that," she wrote in Lil Mix's book according to Daily Mail.

However, Zayn Malik denied that he ended the relationship with Perrie Edwards with a text message. "I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that," he said according to Fader magazine. He added that he has more respect for his former girlfriend than that.

In 2016, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid became an item. Though the couple seemed to be picture-perfect in love, rumors had it that the relationship is on the rocks. Recently, Perrie Edwards is linked to Arsenal soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlaine.

Some fans believe that Zayn Malik is devastated with the turn of events, while others think that Perrie Edwards is just using the hunk athlete as a cover up for her lost love. Do you think Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are finally settling down? Stay tuned to Enstarz for the latest news and update.
