Andy Cohen has responded after Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks accused show producers of being the ones who calculated her downfall on the hit series.

To say Parks hit a rough patch on the show this season would be an understatement as she was called out for spreading rumors that her former best friend Kandi Burruss wanted to drug their co-star Porsha Williams. Parks insisted that she only repeated what she had heard from producers (despite allegedly telling Williams that Burruss said it herself).

Cohen confessed he was "very surprised" that Parks blamed him for the fallout.

"You can't tell them, 'Oh, go say this on camera.' It just doesn't work," he said in a recent interview with The Breakfast Club. "Have you ever met a 'Real Housewife?' They do their own thing. That's why we hire them!"

As for whether Parks will be returning for season 10, Cohen said that final decision has been made yet.

"We're looking at next season and you have to look at where we left off, which is none of the women want to engage with her. That's a tough place to come back from. If it's five against one, it's also not fair to the one. It's really not."

His comments are a response to Park's claims that producers coerced her into speaking about the rumors concerning Burruss.

One insider said, "Phaedra tried to blame producers for manipulating the scenario, and it was cut from the reunion show. They're not allowed to break the 'fourth wall' and talk about production. It may not have been entirely Phaedra's fault, but she has to take the fall."

Another source added that it was, "a producer who told her the drug and rape story, which she repeated to another cast member. It snowballed. The editing was not kind to her."
