After being eliminated last Monday from the ABC hit show, The Bachelorette, Lucas Yancey revealed that he went on the show seeking personal fame.

Formerly known as the "Whaboom" guy, Yancey's comment has caused outrage from fans all over social media. Many have called him "fake" after revealing his true motives for being on the show.

"Some people take it way too seriously. I wasn't there to get the next rose. That's obviously part of it, but it's mostly about being on the show." Yancey shared with The Hollywood Reporter.

The 30-year-old said that he trademarked his "whaboom!" catchphrase at the expense of his fellow contestants. He also released a "whaboom" song, which he predicts will be a "huge summer hit."

Although Yancey was called out for being fake, he believes his fellow contestants were the ones faking it for the camera.

"In reality, what person after meeting them after five minutes says, 'I'm in love'?" Yancey said.

Even though he may have negative opinions of his former contestants, he said he enjoyed being on the show and getting to hang out with the lead bachelorette of the season, Rachel Lindsay.

"I probably was not the right guy for Rachel, but we did have that fun, loving friendship," Yancey shared. "At the end of the day, we didn't have that whaboomish chemistry. ... I do think Rachel did find love."

The Bachelorette airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m
