Allen Iverson's ex wife Tawanna wants the former NBA player thrown in jail for unpaid child support, TMZ reported Saturday.

The site said that Tawanna filed documents with the court that declared her ex is delinquent in providing financial support for their five children. She alleged that Allen owed $40,000 for care of their kids. In January, Allen was ordered to pay $8,000 per month but Tawanna said in her legal briefs that he has not honored the judgment.

Allen and Tawanna are due in an Atlanta court this week and the former Mrs. Iverson is expected to ask the judge to force her ex into making his payments. She may even ask the judge to have the one time Philadelphia 76er put in jail over his actions.

In February, a judge in Atlanta admonished Allen for his parenting skills or lack thereof. He was chided as a hindrance to their physical and emotional well being.

"[Iverson] does not know how to manage the children; has little interest in learning to manage the children and has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development," the judge said.

The judge added that Allen did not want to acknowledge that he had an issue with alcohol which caused him to behave inappropriately. The judge also declared that Allen's actions placed the children in possible imminent danger.

"He has left the children alone without supervision. He has left his young daughters in a hotel room with men who are unknown to the mother," the judge said.

Based on Allen's behavior, the judge awarded Tawanna legal and physical custody of their children. Allen was permitted visitation but had to adhere to certain guideslines which included seeing a therapist and attending AA meetings for the next year. He was also prohibited from drinking alcohol for the next 18 months.
