It was pretty shocking when Jesse Williams of ABC's Grey's Anatomy announced his divorce after five years of marriage. But now he has revealed he and his estranged wife, Aryn Drake-Lee, are in the middle of an ugly custody battle.

"Aryn restricts my time with the children and decides when, and for how long I may have them," he said according to court documents obtained by E! News earlier this week. "She has rejected, without any reason, each and every request I have made to have the children sleepover at my residence. On the few days that I have the children, Aryn has insisted that my time with the children be limited during the week to approximately two and a half hours per day, despite my requests for more time, including overnights with the children."

Williams and Drake-Lee have two children together.

"I am therefore requesting a court order for a joint physical custody parenting plan..." he added.

News of Williams and Drake's divorce made headlines in April. The two had been together for 13 years and married in 2012. Word is Drake-Lee was the breadwinner of the family until Williams landed his major role as Jackson Avery on the ABC series in 2009.

An insider told Page Sixin April, that Williams wants to live his new life as a single man.

"She poured money into this relationship and sacrificed life for him, and now he wants to go out and be the hot single Hollywood guy. Jesse wants to... do whatever he thinks will make him a bigger star. He's drinking his own Kool-Aid and it's 'the Jesse show.' He's dead wrong. He did not respect those vows. He wants to be single."

Word also spread that Williams moved on with actress Minka Kelly after the two were seen together in France.
