Kenya Moore of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta has taken the next step in making sure she controls what is said about her on social media amid her secret marriage to Marc Daly, which is coming to light.

Moore had a few words for her critics just weeks after her marriage was revealed during a panel at the Essence Festival over the weekend.

"The reason why you go to my Instagram and I don't have comments on is because I don't read the comments anymore," Moore said after she received lots of backlash about her love life. "I just have to do things for myself so for me to be empowered I feel like what's private is for me and what I want to share is what I want to share with the fans who really support me and really want to see me succeed."

Moore also explained why she didn't let fans know about her romance with Daly prior to the wedding and in the early days of her marriage.

"I wanted to take some time to enjoy being married and to enjoy my husband without putting him in the middle of a storm. For me, I wanted a real chance to have a real relationship that could stand the test of time. I didn't want to have an Instagram relationship. I didn't want everyone to be in the middle of criticizing whether or not it was real or whether or not I paid someone, you know, the silly rumors that they say about me at times. I wanted for it to be fleshed out."

Word is Moore isn't going to stop keeping her marriage from the public eye anytime soon. It hasn't been confirmed if that includes refusing to put Daly on The Real Housewives of Atlanta when the show returns this fall.
