Another Hollywood couple bites the dust.

Fergie has announced the split with her now soon to be ex-husband Josh Duhamel Thursday.

“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” the statement reads. “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family..”

The two started dating back in 2004 and tied the knot in 2009. They welcomed their one and only child, Axl, together, a few years later. He’s now 4.

This isn’t the first time there was trouble in their relationship. The same year they married, rumors circulated that Duhamel was cheating on Fergie with a woman from Atlanta. He maintained that the speculation was completely false. Fergie once spoke about the rumors with none other than Oprah Winfrey.

“When you go through difficult times, it really makes you stronger as a unit, as a partnership. It does for us, anyways. Our love today is a deeper love, definitely,” she said in the 2012 sit-down interview. “We’re stronger today definitely because of anything difficult that’s happened with us. We deal with it, we communicate; communicating’s the most important thing.”

Duhamel also once spoke with television talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about their marriage and experiences of being a parent.

“I have no idea what I’m doing half the time,” he said. “She’s definitely more evolved than I am, and more patient. But I feel like I’m much more – you know, having a kid when I was 40 years old is much different than having one at 22, so I’m a little bit more mature than I was then.”

The couple celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary together in January.

Now, it looks like Fergie is working on new music and just released the teaser for her new album, Double Dutchess: Seeing Double earlier this month.
