According to a report in OK!, the "Starboy" hitmaker is not allowing the former Disney star to spend quality time with her loved ones.

A source told the celebrity gossip website that The Weeknd has "managed to wall off Selena from a lot of her family and friends who used to be her lifeline, they are also working on each other's songs and music together, so they are totally in each other's works lives and personal lives 100 percent of the time. They haven't focused on time with Selena's family", reported Gossip Cop.

"She is spending 95% of her time with The Weeknd in his L.A house or at his studio."

"The Weekend seems himself as the heir to Prince and is trying to have that kind of lifestyle and career, and that means a girlfriend's extended family who aren't in show business are simply not going to be welcome," the insider added.

"Selena's L.A. based friends and family have noticed a distinct change in the last year, and they're not happy at being shut out," the source shared.

However, the 27-year-old singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has been always supportive of Gomez and was by her side throughout her kidney transplant surgery and recovery period. The "Come and Get It" singer had recently revealed after she received a kidney from her longtime friend Francia Raisa following complications from her battle with Lupus.

The 25-year-old singer announced the news on her Instagram account in September. She wrote: "I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health."

"I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made," she added.
