Brad Pitt Stood Up To Harvey Weinstein For Gwyneth Paltrow

The Harvey Weinstein sex scandal has left Hollywood in disgust and shame and now Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt also shared their dreadful encounter with the producer.

As more and more people are speaking out about Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, actress Gwyneth Paltrow has also claimed that she was sexually harassed by the producer when she was just 22. He tried to lure her to his hotel room and reminiscing she said that she had mentioned the incident to her then boyfriend Brad Pitt who got furious and confronted Weinstein warning him to stay away from her.

Recalling the incident Paltrow said that she was just a kid and Weinstein allegedly invited her to come to his suite at the Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel, for a so-called business meeting. However after the 'uneventful' meet, according to Paltrow, Weinstein asked her to get back to his room with him for a massage. The actress allegedly refused his demands and said that she was petrified. She said that she thought of him as a mentor. When this incident happened, she was scared to confess at that point in time as she was expected to keep the whole thing a secret.

Pitt and Paltrow were just at the beginning of their career and they had faced Weinstein blasting them off not fearing that their career could be doomed forever. However, nothing like that happened and both carved a niche for themselves.The details about the encounter with Weinstein was given by Paltrow in an interview and a representative of Pitt also confirmed the story.

A source close to Pitt said that the now superstar Pitt conjured up courage and stood up to Weinstein and as he was not well established then, he could have had a lot to lose after the confrontation. Another source close to him said that he had threatened the man and poked him in the chest and asked him never to do anything like this to his then girlfriend or else he would have to face serious consequences.

Pitt made sure and he was determined not to work with or associate with Weinstein and his production company for years after the incident took place and the only movie he did with the company was the 2009 film " Inglorious Bastards" as the actor was determined to work with the director Quentin Tarantino. An insider said that during the making of the film Pitt and Weinstein barely interacted.
