'Sister, Sister' Cast: Tia Mowry Said Reboot Could Premiere Next Fall

Celebrity twins Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Tamera Mowry-Housley have been planning a Sister, Sister reboot and didn’t say a word! Until now. Tia gave details of the now highly anticipated show.

It looks like it will air as soon as Fall of 2018! Mowry sat down with Us Weekly and gave details of where they are in the planning phase what fans can expect from the series when it returns.

“It’s amazing and wonderful,” said Tia during an interview with Us Weekly earlier this week. “My sister and I are taking meetings as we speak, so it’s definitely closer than ever to making this reboot happen. We are being told that they want it to be or happen next year in the fall. So, it’s going by so fast, everything.”

While lots could have changed since the show went off the air in 1999 after six successful seasons, one thing that might not change is the cast and crew. Tia said they have already been having conversations with the same producers who worked on the show when it first premiered in 1994 and throughout its run on ABC.

Now, the show is in syndication on multiple networks as the new generation gets to enjoy and experience the life joys and struggles with main characters Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell.

“Just to be sitting in these meetings with [the producers] 20 years later, it’s crazy,” said Mowry.

When it comes to the storyline for the show, it does not look like it will steer too far from what made it a success to begin with. Tia said she hopes it will highlight and feature the real-life experiences she and Tamera have as wives and mothers. She also wants it to show the ins and outs of a strong sisterhood, another factual aspect the sisters have in reality.

“I think fans will love it because I just feel very blessed and honored that people are still following my sister and I 20 years later. So I think they’ll be excited to see where we are right now and to see our dynamic right now,” added Tia. “We’re just excited to just give back to the fans and make them happy, that’s really one of the main reasons why we’re doing it.”

The show surrounded Tia and Tamera after they discovered one another at 14-years-old in a department store on the series premiere. It followed them through high school and even their first year of college. Be sure to keep up with Enstars for the latest!
