Aaron Carter seems to be recovering well in rehab judging by the singer's latest social media post.

It's been a turbulent year for the 29-year-old singer, who checked himself into the health and wellness facility last month to work on his mental health problems and it looks like he's making some progress.

The pop star took to Instagram on Friday, Nov. 10, to share a before-and-after photo of himself and show off his incredible body transformation over the last two months.

"This is my before and after pics. I went from 115 to 160 pounds in two months I feel amazing. 2018 I'm ready for you!!," Carter captioned the picture. "My new Music is on its way!"

A source told E! News that the "I Want Candy" hitmaker has been placed on a "special" protein-heavy diet, because of which he has gained 45 pounds so quickly. Carter posted a similar side-by-side photo of his progress in early October when he reached the 145-pound mark.

Carter first checked into rehab in September to improve his overall wellness but only stayed there for two weeks because he had to check out to deal with "several legal and personal matters." He returned to the facility in mid-October.

An insider revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Carter was very upset when he had to check out of the facility and had told all of his close friends and family members that he wouldn't stop working on his wellness.

"He was doing very well," the source added. "He gained a significant amount of weight and was getting stronger by the day."

Carter has been grabbing headlines in recent months for many things including personal revelations and run-ins with the law. The singer was arrested for possession of marijuana earlier this year and then came out as bisexual before his girlfriend broke up with him because of it. He also had a war of words with brother and Backstreet Boy Nick on social media and was tested for HIV and STDs live on television.

In September, welfare authorities visited Carter thrice in 24 hours after they received an anonymous tip claiming that the child star had tried to purchase a weapon and threatened to harm family members. Florida police also responded to an anonymous suicide threat involving the singer but it was later revealed to be a false alarm.

It may have been a tough year for the singer but things look like they're improving with his new outlook and promise to release new music soon.
