Gwen Stefani is ready to take the next step in her relationship with Blake Shelton.

Following over two years of dating, a source claims the 48-year-old mother of three is hoping to settle down with the country singer, who is seven years her junior.

“They are at the point of their relationship where forever is a part of the conversation and Gwen is hoping to be engaged and ready for marriage by the end of 2018,” a source close to the couple told Hollywood Life on Dec. 12.

Stefani and Shelton have both been married before, but only Stefani has kids. As fans of the No Doubt frontwoman will recall, Stefani welcomed three sons, 11-year-old Kingston, 9-year-old Zuma, and 3-year-old Apollo, while married to ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. As for Shelton, he's been married twice but has no kids of his own.

In addition to Stefani's hopes for a future with Shelton, she is reportedly becoming anxious about his future proposal and worries he may never get down on one knee if he doesn't do so by the end of the year.

Although the Hollywood Life insider seemed to suggest that Stefani was losing hope when it came to her potential marriage to Shelton, another source told the outlet weeks ago that she was considering plans for a wedding.

“They know that is going to be a big deal when they finally get themselves married,” a source explained to Hollywood Life in November. “So much so that they are considering just eloping and then having a big party to celebrate with friends and family. They love each other and that is not going to change if they don’t have a big wedding."

As the source explained, Stefani and Shelton have both gotten married before and don't believe they need to make a huge spectacle of their potential future nuptials. Instead, the couple is allegedly continuing to discuss their thoughts on the concept as Shelton prepares for the end of the 13th season of The Voice.

As fans will recall, Stefani and Shelton's romance began on the set of the NBC singing competition after both Stefani and Shelton endured divorces in summer 2015. From there, the couple has continued on with their relationship and are frequently seen enjoying each other's company and the company of Stefani's kids in Los Angeles and Oklahoma.
