We have finally gotten down to the root of what caused issues between Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams. It might be safe to say that it’s much more minimal than most fans thought.

The Root Of The Issue

In a teaser for the upcoming episode of the hit show, some of the ladies hang out in what looks like an effort to get Williams and Leakes on better terms. The two women had a screaming match at the top of the current season in which Williams questioned Leakes on why the door to their friendship was closed. Now, Williams and the fans who were wondering the same thing finally have their answers.

It was all over unanswered text messages. As unextreme as it sounds, Leakes was very passionate as that being the reason she wondered whether she and Williams were ever friends to begin with. It might have been helpful that Marlo Hampton and Cynthia Bailey, who were also in the room, have had their issues with Leakes that they have been able to get over for good.

Williams first told Leakes that she remembers Leakes referring to her as her “little sister” and felt the feeling was mutual on her end, especially when Williams was going through her ugly divorce with her now ex-husband, former NFL player Kordell Stewart. Williams pointed out that she went to support Leakes on Broadway and sent tweets and made posts on social media encouraging her fans to do the same. Leakes later said in a confessional that sending a tweet and making a post does not put you in the friend category.

She Said-She Said

Leakes then said that she reached out to Williams several times, only to never get a response. While Williams said Leakes only contacted her twice, it’s clear the two ladies disagree on how often Leakes’ text messages went unanswered. Leakes also said in the confessional that Williams had plenty of time to answer her texts when things were going bad for her. Still, once Williams’s life started looking up, Leakes said she felt Williams put their friendship on the back burner.

The notion that they are sitting down and having a conversation together does bring hope that they will be able to rekindle their friendship again, or at least be in the same room without a repeat of their screaming match in San Francisco.
